Richards is expected to join Toledo in time for tonight's game
Rockford, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks have reassigned goalie Alec Richards from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League to the Toledo Walleye (ECHL), Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Saturday.
Richards is currently playing in his rookie season and did not appear in an AHL game during his fourth recall to Rockford in 2009-10. The Robbinsdale, Minn. native has played in six games with the IceHogs and carries a record of 3-2-0-0 with and .895 SPCT and a 3.12 GAA.
In 31 games with the Walleye, Richards is 16-11-4 with an .894 save percentage and a 3.43 goals against average. Prior to turning pro, Richards spent the previous four years at YaleUniversity and is the Bulldogs all-time shutouts leader with six.
