Rem Pitlick's Blast Propels the IceHogs to OT Win

Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs took down the Iowa Wild 3-2 in overtime on Saturday night inside the BMO Center.
At 15:00 of the 1st period, Samuel Savoie won a puck battle in the offensive zone and fed Joey Anderson at the goal line. Anderson pulled the puck to his backhand and threw it in between the legs of Cal Petersen.
Less than a minute later and on a power play, the Wild tied the game at 1-1 with a tally from the near dot off the stick of Hunter Haight.
Cavan Fitzgerald at 7:43 of the 3rd gave the Hogs a 2-1 lead. The defenseman wristed home his second of the season from the top of the far dot.
With three minutes to play, the Iowa power play equalized again, this time with a rebound goal from Ben Jones to force overtime.
After Iowa took two late penalties, Rem Pitlick drove his one-timer into the back of the net with 5.5 to go in overtime to give the Hogs the two points.
Up next, the IceHogs hit the road to Iowa to take on the Wild on Sunday, March 29. The puck drops from the Casey's Center at 6:00 p.m.
