Hogs host Milwaukee on Oct. 4 at the BMO Harris Bank Center
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs and Rockford Register Star are teaming up to offer fans free tickets to the IceHogs home preseason game on Thursday, Oct. 4 against the Milwaukee Admirals at the BMO Harris Bank Center at 7:05 p.m.
A coupon will be in the Rockford Register Star, beginning with Friday’s edition, and is good for up to four free entries into the BMO Harris Bank Center on Oct. 4. The coupon will also be made available on the Register Star’s website, rrstar.com starting Friday.
Seating is general admission for the preseason contest and seating is available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Season Ticket Holders will be granted access to the arena 30-minutes prior to the general public at 5:35 p.m. with their early entry pass.
During the first intermission of Thursday’s game against Milwaukee, Nick Curley, a 7 year-old mite hockey player with the Glenview Stars NIHL team, will be skating one mile as part of his “100 Miles For Danny” campaign. Throughout the summer Nick has been skating five miles at a time, with a goal of reaching 100 miles. Nick skates in honor of his cousin, who had epilepsy, with all proceeds benefiting the Danny Did Foundation, a nonprofit that supports families who battle seizures. The foundation honors the life of Danny Stanton, who died from a seizure just before his 5th birthday.
Nick’s one-mile skate at the BMO Harris Bank Center will follow four miles logged earlier in the day, after the IceHogs morning skate, bringing him to 80 miles competed. There will also be an information table located on the main concourse of the BMO Harris Bank Center during Thursday’s game, where fans are encouraged to donate a “Dollar for Danny.”

About Danny Did Foundation Founded by Chicagoans Mike and Mariann Stanton in January 2010 after the death of their four-year-old son Danny, Danny Did Foundation works toward its mission to prevent deaths caused by seizures with these main goals in mind: advancing awareness of Sudden Unexpected Death in Epilepsy (SUDEP) and enhancing the SUDEP communication model between medical professionals and those afflicted by seizures, and the mainstreaming of seizure detection and prediction devices that may assist in preventing deaths caused by seizures. We view these devices as complimentary to medicinal, surgical and dietary measures that are used to treat seizures. Epilepsy impacts nearly three million people in the United States and 50 million people worldwide, and it is estimated that up to 50,000 deaths occur annually in the U.S. from status epilepticus (prolonged seizures), SUDEP, and other seizure-related causes such as drowning and other accidents.
