RED OUT THE PLAYOFFS WITH THE ICEHOGS
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs are inviting fans to join the team in a “red out” for the Hogs’ upcoming home games during the Division Finals of the Calder Cup Playoffs against the Manitoba Moose.
The IceHogs have partnered with the city of Rockford, the Rockford Area Convention & Visitors Bureau (RACVB) and the River District Association in a “red out” for the remainder of the team’s run in the AHL postseason. As part of the partnership, various buildings in downtown Rockford will feature red LED lighting for each IceHogs home playoff game, including City Hall, Morgan St. Bridge, Prairie Street Brewhouse, RACVB and the Rockford Register Star tower.
Fans are encouraged to participate in the “red out” by wearing red to the IceHogs home contests for Game 3 on Wednesday (7 p.m.), Game 4 on Friday (7 p.m.) and, if necessary, Game 5 on Saturday (6 p.m.).
The IceHogs’ playoff festivities will also include a Block Party before Game 4 against the Moose on Friday. The party will take place on Elm St. from 5:15 – 7 p.m. and will feature an outdoor Blues Flame Friday with food and drink specials and live music from Andrew Robinson. Fans can enjoy hamburger and brat baskets at the Block Party, and free samples of beer from local breweries. The free beer samples will include Feather Eye Rye IPA and Berry River Roll.
Please note, in the instance of inclement weather, the Block Party will be moved inside in the Blue Flame Lounge.
Local craft beers and whiskeys will also be available for sampling inside the BMO Harris Bank Center up in Hog Heaven during the IceHogs game. For just $5, fans ages 21-and-over can sample up to three beers or whiskeys during the Hogs’ home contest. Fans will also have access to craft beer specials in Hog Heaven upon purchasing their $5 ticket. (NOTE: Tickets for the beer and whiskey sampling will only be available for purchase in-person at the entrance to Hog Heaven).
