Blackhawks set to host annual Prospect Camp
Chicago, Ill.- The future of the Chicago Blackhawks will be on display this weekend as the Blackhawks host their annual Prospect Camp at Johnny’s Ice House West (2550 W. Madison St.) in Chicago. The camp runs from Friday, July 9 to Monday July 12.
The on-ice portion of the camp will get under way on Friday at 10:45 a.m. with a scrimmage. A second scrimmage will be held at 1 p.m. The camp features four teams and all four teams will scrimmage each of the four days of the camp.
The camp will consist of most of Chicago’s draft picks over the past three seasons and several skaters vying for a free agent contract from either the Blackhawks or the team’s American Hockey League affiliate Rockford IceHogs.
Recent free agents signed out of the Prospect Camp by the IceHogs include Pete MacArthur, David Phillips and Mike Radja. Stanley Cup Champion goaltender Antti Niemi first appeared in a Blackhawks uniform during the 2008 Prospect Camp.

Saturday and Sunday’s sessions with feature scrimmages at 10:45 a.m. and 12 p.m. while Monday’s final day of the Prospect Camp will contain scrimmages at 10 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
