Prospect Kruger and Team Sweden Strong at WJC

, the Blackhawks' 5th round pick in the 2009 Entry Draft, and his Sweden World Junior Championship team are on track to head deep into the IIHF World U20 Championship tournament. Sweden is currently 4-0 after finishing the preliminary rounds and defeating the Czech Republic (10-1), Austria (7-3), Russia (4-1) and Finland (4-0).

Kruger has tallied three assists and currently sits at a +5 rating in four games played during the IIHF WJC. Sweden defeated rival Finland today in the last round of preliminary games and now heads into the regulation round and playoff round quarterfinals.

The talented Djurgårdens IF rookie leads his Swedish team with 27 points (9 goals, 18 assists) in 30 games this season and currently sits 12th among scoring leaders in the Swedish Elite League.

The 2010 IIHF World U20 Championship are being held in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada.
