Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs announced today they have recalled defenseman Robin Press from their ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel.
Press, 22, has spent the majority of the 2016-17 season with the Fuel, collecting 2g-8a-10pts and 14 penalty minutes in 30 ECHL games. He has skated even-or-better over his last four contests and joins the Hogs having posted a +2 plus/minus rating over that time.
The Uppsala, Sweden native has also appeared in six AHL games with Rockford and 11 contests in the Swedish Hockey League with Djurgårdens this year.
Press was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (No. 211 overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He made his North American professional debut with the Rockford IceHogs on April 15, 2015, skating in two games during the regular season and four contests during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
