
PRESS, ICEHOGS AGREE TO TERMS

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud affiliate of the NHL’s Chicago Blackhawks, announced today that they have agreed to terms with defenseman Robin Press on a one-year AHL contract.
Press, 22, skated in nine games for the IceHogs last season, recording two penalty minutes. He also played in 30 games with Rockford’s ECHL affiliate, the Indy Fuel, amassing 2g-8a-10pts and 14 penalty minutes. The 6-3, 209 lbs. blueliner scored his first North American professional goal while with Indy on Dec. 20, 2016.
The Uppsala, Sweden native began the 2016-17 season with Djurgardens IF in the Swedish Hockey League where he tallied an assist, two PIM and a +1 plus/minus rating in 11 contests.
Press was originally selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the seventh round (No. 211 overall) of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. He made his North American professional debut with the IceHogs on April 15, 2015, skating in two games during the regular season and four contests during the Calder Cup Playoffs.
His resume includes 1g-3a-4pts in 52 games in the Swedish Hockey League from 2015-17 and 19g-31a-50pts in 152 contests in the HockeyAllsvenskan (Sweden) from 2011-15.
