POSE WITH THE STANLEY CUP ON SUNDAY

Stanley Cupviewing

Rockford, Ill. – After playing seven of their first eight games on the road, the Rockford IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center this weekend for a pair of matinee contests on Saturday and Sunday.

On Saturday, the IceHogs host the Charlotte Checkers for the first time this season. The puck is set to drop at 3 p.m. and the first 5,000 fans into the building will receive an IceHogs magnet schedule compliments of T6 Broadband. Two lucky fans in attendance will also have a chance to win a pair of Blackhawks tickets for the game that night (Oct. 26) against the Minnesota Wild.

Bring your skates to the game on Saturday to participate in the first “Skate with the Hogs.” Following the game, fans will be invited on to the BMO Harris Bank Center ice to skate with the team and get candy from players during a special trick-or-treat session. A select number of players will be on the concourse to meet with fans and pass out candy to those without skates.

Then on Sunday, as the IceHogs take on the Texas Stars beginning at 4 p.m., hockey’s most coveted trophy will be on display for fans to see. The Stanley Cup, along with the Campbell Bowl (awarded to the National Hockey League’s Western Conference Champions), Conn Smythe Trophy (given to the Stanley Cup Playoffs Most Valuable Player), Frank J. Selke Trophy (awarded to the NHL’s most defensive forward), and the Presidents’ Trophy (presented to the team that finishes the regular season with the most points), will all be at the game on Sunday, Oct. 27. Additionally, the first 5,000 fans to the game will pick up a special Champions poster.

The Stanley Cup and the other Blackhawks Championship trophies will be on display in Hog Heaven for fans to take a photo with on a first-come, first-serve basis. To accommodate every fan, each person (or group) will be permitted only one photo with the Cup, either with their own camera or by a professional photographer that will be on site.

Season ticket holders will be allowed into the building first, beginning at 2 p.m., and will only be admitted through the doors located on the corner of Church and Chestnut Street. Then at 3 p.m., all the doors to the arena will be open for the game. The line to see the Stanley Cup will form on the staircase behind Section 101 beginning at 2 p.m.

Professional photos will be taken by team photographers Greg Hamil and Dan Anelli of G and D Studios, and will be available to purchase on their website. $1 from each purchase will be donated to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation.
