Winnipeg, MB -  The Rockford IceHogs cruised past the Manitoba Moose 7-3 on Saturday afternoon inside the Canada Life Centre.

The IceHogs jumped out in front in the opening minute of the 1st thanks to an  strike from Brett Seney. The Rockford captain shot from the near circle and saw the puck leak through Manitoba's Thomas Milic.

Manitoba equalized two minutes later on their first power play of the game. Samuel Fagemo was left alone in the slot and snapped the 1-1 goal past Laurent Brossoit. Rockford regained the lead while shorthanded at 6:50 of the 1st. Joey Anderson skated in from center on a breakaway and deked to his back hand for a 2-1 lead.

Danny Zhilkin pulled the Moose back even at 2-2 with a wrister from the far circle halfway through the frame. In the final four minutes of the period, the Hogs earned a slew of power plays and cashed in with 47 seconds remaining. Samuel Savoie located a loose puck in the crease and banged it home for the 3-2 lead.

Early in the 2nd, the Moose fought back once again scoring on the man-advantage. David Gustafsson collected in a rebound off the pads and tied the game at 3-3. Less than a minute later though, Seney punched right back with his second of the afternoon from the slot.

Now leading 4-3, the Hogs killed off a penalty and went right back to the attack. Rem Pitlick spotted Ryan Gagnier across the zone and the winger blasted home a one-timer. Pitlick in his first game back with the IceHogs earned his third assist.

The Hogs created more insurance with two 3rd period power play goals. Pitlick joined the fun banging in a rebound to give the Hogs a 6-3 advantage. 61 seconds later, Anderson snagged his second goal of the game with a net front deflection.

Brossoit earned his third win in an IceHogs' uniform making 40 saves.

Up next, the Hogs take on the Manitoba Moose on Sunday, December 21 at 2:00 p.m. at Canada Life Center. Rockford returns to the BMO Center on Saturday, December 27 at 7:00 p.m. The first 1,500 fans 14 and under will receive a youth jersey giveaway presented by Westside Children's Therapy.
