PIRRI, MORIN AND RAANTA ASSIGNED TO ROCKFORD
Chicago, Ill.-The Chicago Blackhawks announced that they have assigned forwards Jeremy Morin and Brandon Pirri, along with goaltender Antti Raanta, to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League
Pirri, 22, led the AHL with 73 points a season ago. He became the first IceHogs skater to lead the league in points. The Toronto, Ont. native is Rockford’s all-time points leader, accumulating 174 points during his first three seasons with the IceHogs.
Morin, 22, is also entering his fourth professional season and last year led Rockford with 30 goals. The Auburn, New York native has 56g-54a-110pts in 158 career games with Rockford.
With their exhibition schedule complete, Rockford now has 27 players in training camp including 16 forwards, eight defenseman and three goalies. The IceHogs open the 2013-14 regular season on Saturday, Oct. 5 at San Antonio at 7 p.m.
