PIRRI DEALT TO FLORIDA PANTHERS FOR DRAFT PICKS
Hogs all-time leading point scorer yields 3rd and 5th round picks
Chicago, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced Sunday that they have acquired a third-round choice in the 2014 National Hockey League Entry Draft and a fifth-round selection in the 2016 NHL Entry Draft from the Florida Panthers in exchange for forward Brandon Pirri.
Pirri, 22, has tallied 11 points (6g, 5a) in 28 games with the Blackhawks this season. He has also registered 24 points (10g, 14a) in 25 American Hockey League games with the Rockford IceHogs.
The center is Rockford’s all-time leading point scorer as he notched his 200th career point on Saturday night in Oklahoma City. During his four seasons in Rockford, Pirri recorded 68g-132a-200pts in 238 career games. Pirri was named MVP of last month's AHL All-Star Classic and twice represented Rockford in the AHL All-Star Game.
The Toronto, Ontario, native was originally selected by the Blackhawks in the second round, 59th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.
