PIRRI AND HAYES SWAP SPOTS
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have recalled forward Brandon Pirri from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League. Additionally, the team has assigned forward Jimmy Hayes to Rockford.
Pirri, 22, has tallied three assists in three games with the IceHogs this season. He leads the team in assists, shares second in points, and is second in shots on goal (10). The Toronto, Ontario, native has tallied two assists in seven career National Hockey League regular-season games with the Blackhawks. He has also appeared in two Stanley Cup Playoff games.
Pirri was selected by the Blackhawks in the second round, 59th overall, of the 2009 NHL Entry Draft. Pirri led the AHL in points a season ago, with 75 points (22g-53a) and was named one of Rockford's 2012-13 co-MVPs.
Hayes, 23, has appeared in two games with Chicago this season. The Dorchester, Mass. native ranked fourth on the IceHogs last season with 25 goals, to go along with 20 assists in 67 contests for Rockford.
