Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League and primary affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks are proud to support breast cancer awareness and host their first ever “Pink in the Rink” night on Friday, Jan. 29 against the Peoria Rivermen.

The puck is set to drop at 7:05 p.m. and for every ticket purchased to the Friday night game the IceHogs will donate $1 to benefit breast cancer research.

The first 1,000 women into the building will also pick up a “Pink in the Rink” t-shirt courtesy of 13-WREX and B103 FM.

Fans are encouraged to wear pink to the game to recognize the individuals who are survivors or family members of survivors, as well as those who are fighting the disease or have died.

The Rockford MetroCentre ice will be painted pink for the event and players will be wearing pink laces on their skates and using pink tape to show their support.

For more information about the event or tickets to the game, please contact an IceHogs ticket sales executive at (815) 986-6465.
