PHILLIPS RECALLED FROM TOLEDO
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs recalled defenseman David Phillips from the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye, Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Monday.
Phillips, 22, made his North American debut with the IceHogs on Oct. 4 against Peoria and has skated in 21 games for Rockford this season. He scored one assist and recorded 13 penalty minutes. In six games with the Toledo Walleye, has tallid two points (1g-1a), two penalty minutes and a plus/minus rating of -5. His first professional goal in North America came with the Walleye on the power play against the Charlotte Checkers.
The Beverley, England native appeared in 257 professional games with the Hull Stingrays (BNL/EPL/EIHL) and Belfast Giants (EIHL) before signing with Rockford on July 28, 2009.
