Rockford, Ill.- Two former Rockford IceHogs are representing their countries at the 2011 International Ice Hockey Federation World Championships in Slovakia. Forwards Jack Skille (Team USA) and Mathis Olimb (Team Norway) are both participating in the annual tournament.

Olimb, 25, played in 60 games for Rockford in 2010-11 and notched 10g-22a-32pts. This is the third World Championship Tournament for the Oslo, Norway native. Last spring, Olimb totaled a goal and three assists in six games for Team Norway.

The forward also represented Norway in the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver. Olimb appeared in four games and registered a pair of helpers in the Olympics. Entering the 2011 World Championships, Olimb had appeared in 19 career tournament games and scored 3g-8a-11pts.

Skille is Rockford’s all-time AHL goals (59) and points (128) leader as he skated for the American Hockey League club from 2007-2010. The winger just completed his first full season in the NHL between the Chicago Blackhawks and Florida Panthers and in 62 contests he accumulated 8g-11a-19pts.
