Rockford, Ill.- Due to circumstances out of the Rockford IceHogs’ control, the Mr. Potato Head giveaways slated for Saturday’s game at the Rockford MetroCentre will not be here in time for the game.
The Hogs take on the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. The Mr. Potato Head, which comes with a special IceHogs jersey, are expected to arrive by the March 19 game against the Peoria Rivermen at the MetroCentre.
IceHogs staff and the Fire & Ice Girls promotions team will be handing out vouchers for a Mr. Potato Head on Saturday for the first 2,500 fans along with a coupon for a discounted ticket for either the March 19 or March 20 game. Purchase of an additional game ticket is not required to pick up a Mr. Potato Head on that weekend.
Tickets are still available for Saturday’s contest. For tickets call (815) 968-5222 or visit metrocentre.com. You can also stop by the MetroCentre Box Office or Hog Headquarters at CherryVale Mall.
Mr. Potato Heads will also be available for pick up at Hog Headquarters inside CherryVale Mall in late March. Look for more information on Mr. Potato Head availability on icehogs.com.

Next Home Game: Monday, Feb. 15 vs. Grand Rapids Griffins. Presidents’ Day is Best Buy Kids’ Day at the Rockford MetroCentre as the Hogs host the Griffins on a special afternoon game. The puck drops at 2:05 p.m. Kids tickets are just $5 and the special “Kidcession” stand will be open featuring $1 soda, candy and hot dogs. Also look for a chance to win one of 10 video game systems thanks to Best Buy and everyone in attendance will also pick up a “Go Green” replica goalie mask courtesy of Best Buy, Fox 39 and the American Red Cross.
