OFFENSIVE STRUGGLES CONTINUE AS ADS EDGE HOGS

Recap 1 2 19

Rockford, Ill. - Admirals goaltender Troy Grosenick made 32 saves and Connor Brickley netted the winning marker in the second period as the Milwaukee Admirals defeated the Rockford IceHogs in a tightly-contested 2-1 decision Wednesday night at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

The loss pushed the Rockford winless streak to five games, just one shy of its season-long six-game skid from Nov. 14-25.

Yakov Trenin scored 1:45 into the game to give Milwaukee the early lead, before Brickley tallied 4:21 into the second period to extend the Admirals lead to 2-0. Rockford goaltender Anton Forsberg made the initial save on an Alexandre Carrier shot from the point, but Brickley snuck the rebound under Forsberg’s glove.

William Pelletier sparked a late push from the IceHogs with his first goal of the season at the 4:26 mark of the third stanza, deflecting a Tyler Sikura shot past Grosenick’s glove side. The IceHogs pressured the Admirals for the remainder of the frame, including ringing two shots off the post, but were ultimately unable to dent Grosenick for the tying tally.

Forsberg answered Grosenick’s 32-save effort with 25 stops on 27 shots in the loss.
