Rockford looks to break out of slump Wednesday
Week 5 Recap
A struggling offense has saddled the Rockford IceHogs with a five-game losing streak heading into Week 6 of the 2008-09 American Hockey League season. The IceHogs have managed just seven goals during the stretch, but still remain a game over .500 with the three divisional games on the slate this week.

In a week where Rockford’s offense was rather lean, winger Pascal Pelletier chipped in a pair of points for the IceHogs. Pelletier had an assist on Friday night in the IceHogs 5-2 loss to the Norfolk Admirals and scored Rockford’s only goal in the Hogs 3-1 loss to the Admirals on Saturday.
Upcoming Games:
Wednesday, Nov. 12 vs. Milwaukee Admirals. Rockford returns home at 7:05 p.m. The IceHogs and Admirals meet for the first of five times at the Rockford MetroCentre this season. Wednesday is this season’s first WXRX Student Rush Night as every student who presents a Student ID at the door no earlier than one hour before the game can purchase the best seat in the house for $10. Also, every fan in attendance on Wednesday can register to win Blackhawks tickets! The IceHogs will be giving away three pairs of Blackhawks tickets and five pairs of Penthouse Suite tickets to an upcoming Blackhawks game.
Saturday, Nov. 15 at Milwaukee Admirals: Game time is 1 p.m. A rare Saturday afternoon matinee as the IceHogs head to the Bradley Center in Milwaukee for the back-end of a home-and-home series against the Admirals. The game is the second of five in Milwaukee against the West Division rivals.
Sunday, Nov. 16 vs. Peoria Rivermen. The puck drops at 5:05 p.m. Some hockey and then a concert! The IceHogs and Rivermen face-off for the second time this season on Family Faith Night and a Sunday Fundae at the MetroCentre. The IceHogs will host a postgame concert featuring former American Idol finalist Chris Sleigh. Kids can take advantage of several activities before and during the game and can meet SpongeBob Square Pants. The game is presented by Culver’s, U Gotta Jump, 101 QFL, Rockford Public Librar, Comcast and Thrivent Financial for Lutherans.

Bud Light Hog Talk returns tonight at Cousin’s Bar and Grill. Join Jim Stone from 6-7 p.m. at Cousin’s as he chats IceHogs hockey with Hogs Head Coach Bill Peters. Tonight’s show will also feature forward Rob Klinkhammer and defenseman J.C. Sawyer. Stop out to Cousin’s, located on the corner of East State St. and Perryville in Rockford, and take advantage of some great food and Bud Light specials. If you can’t make it out to Cousin’s, tune into 1330 AM, WNTA.
