MULLANE, SHALUNOV LOANED TO TOLEDO
Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks, announced on Thursday that they have loaned forwards Pat Mullane and Maxim Shalunov to the Toledo Walleye of the ECHL.
Mullane, 23, has registered five assists in 24 contests for the IceHogs this season. The rookie forward is playing in his first professional campaign after spending four years at Boston College. The Wallingford, Conn., native posted 42 goals and 98 assists over his four year career with the Eagles.
Shalunov, 20, has appeared in 18 games for Rockford, dishing out four assists. The Chelyabinsk, Russia native spent the majority of the 2012-13 season with Chelmet Chelyabinsk in the VHL, recording nine points (2g-7a) in 19 games.
Shalunov was drafted by the Blackhawks in the fourth round (#109 overall) of the 2011 NHL Entry Draft.
The IceHogs travel to Grand Rapids for a tilt with the defending Calder Cup Champion Griffins on Friday at 6 p.m. before returning to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday to take on the Milwaukee Admirals at 7 p.m.
