The Chicago Blackhawks have recalled forward Jeremy Morin from the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs.

Morin, 19, made his National Hockey League debut on Nov. 6 at the Atlanta Thrashers and has registered four shots on goal, two blocked shots and one takeaway in two regular-season games with the Blackhawks this season. He tied for second on Chicago with four points (G, 3A) in six tilts during the 2010 preseason. The Auburn, New York, native currently leads Rockford with six goals, including a team-high four power-play markers, and shares third with nine points (6G, 3A) in 17 AHL tilts this year in his professional debut. He has also registered a team-best +2 plus/minus rating.

Originally acquired in a trade with the Atlanta Thrashers on June 24, 2010, Morin tied for fourth in the Ontario Hockey League with 47 goals and ranked 12th with 83 points in 58 regular-season games in his rookie season with the Kitchener Rangers during the 2009-10 campaign. Atlanta’s second pick, 45th overall, in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft, Morin also ranked second on the Rangers with 12 goals and fourth with 21 points in 20 playoff tilts, helping the club reach the Western Conference Finals. He captured a Gold Medal with Team USA at the 2010 World Junior Championships.

The Blackhawks host the St. Louis Blues on Tuesday night at the United Center. The game will be broadcast nationally on VERSUS and can be heard on 720 WGN.
