MORIN RATED TOP STAR FOR SECOND STRAIGHT SEASON
Rockford, Ill. - At the conclusion of each game, third party officials, usually members of the media, choose who they believe are to be coined as the top three players for that game, or the “3 Stars of the Game.” The player who receives the first star is considered to be the biggest difference maker of that contest.
In 2013-14, Rockford IceHogs left winger and leading point scorer Jeremy Morin led the team in his 3 Stars point accrual. Morin was chosen as a top three star 12 times in 47 games for Rockford. Morin was coined the #1 Star of the game six times, second star two times, and third star four times. This past season, Morin accumulated 26 points. Morin racked up 18 points for the first star, four points for the second star, and four points for the third star. This is the second season in a row with Morin leading the IceHogs in the “3 Stars” ranking.
Goalie, Jason LaBarbera had the second highest point total chalking up 20 points out of 32 games. Following closely to LaBarbera was Center Mark McNeill with a total of 19 points in 76 games. Center Brandon Pirri accumulated 16 points landing him the fourth position in the “3 Stars” ranking.
