MCMORROW ADDED TO ICEHOGS ROSTER
Winger adds toughness to Hogs line up
Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliates Mark Bernard announced on Wednesday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have signed winger Sean McMorrow to a PTO.
McMorrow, 26, is entering his seventh season in professional hockey and fifth in the AHL. The 6-4 winger boasts 1,020 career AHL penalty minutes. McMorrow played with the Rochester Americans from 2002-03 through the 2005-06 season.
An eighth-round draft pick by the Buffalo Sabres in the 2000 NHL Entry Draft, McMorrow has 220 career AHL games and has scored 4g-5a-9pts. McMorrow also played in one game with the Sabres during the 2003-04 season. The tough winger spent the previous two seasons playing in the LNAH with the St. Hyacinthe Top Design. Last year, McMorrow had 1g-4a-5pts and 527 penalty minutes in 48 games.
McMorrow is expected to be available for Rockford’s game this Friday against the Norfolk Admirals at the Rockford MetroCentre.
Next Home Game: Friday, Oct. 24 vs. Norfolk Admirals: Game time is 7:30 p.m. The Norfolk Admirals come into the Rockford MetroCentre for the first of two straight against the IceHogs. The weekend set marks the only time during the 2008-09 regular season that the Hogs will face an Eastern Conference team at home.
