MASHINTER AND SCHILLING SENT TO ROCKFORD
Chicago, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks announced today they have reassigned forward Brandon Mashinter and defenseman Cameron Schilling to the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Mashinter, 27, tallied 32 points (17g-15a) and 57 penalty minutes in 69 games for the IceHogs last season. His 17 goals in 2014-2015 ranked fourth best for Rockford.
The Bradford, Ontario native has appeared in a combined 23 NHL games, between the San Jose Sharks and the New York Rangers. He has earned 194 points (96g-98a) and 527 penalty minutes in 398 career AHL games with Rockford, Worcester, Connecticut and Hartford.
Schilling, 26, was acquired by the Chicago Blackhawks in early July. In 2014-15, he recorded 18 points (3g-15a) and 63 penalty minutes in 63 regular-season games with the Hershey Bears. He also appeared in four games with the Washington Capitals, and picked up four penalty minutes.
The Carmel, Indiana native has recorded four penalty minutes in six regular-season career NHL games with Washington. Schilling has 50 points (13g-37a) and 227 penalty minutes in 210 career AHL regular-season contests with Hershey.
