KONTIOLA RECALLED BY THE BLACKHAWKS
Hogs second leading point scorer heads back to Chicago
Chicago, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled forward Petri Kontiola from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.
Kontiola has appeared in 28 games for Rockford this season and has 28 points on 7 goals and 21 assists with 18 penalty minutes and a +9 rating. Two of his goals have come on the power play. Overall, Kontiola ranks second on the IceHogs in scoring and assists.
This will be Kontiola’s second recall of the season. He made his NHL debut back on November 25th at Vancouver and had one shot on goal.
Kontiola was the Blackhawks’ 7th round pick (196th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
