KLINKHAMMER DEALT TO OTTAWA FOR DRAFT PICK

Rockford, Ill. - The Chicago Blackhawks have acquired a conditional seventh round draft pick in the 2013 National Hockey League Entry Draft from the Ottawa Senators in exchange for forward Rob Klinkhammer.

Klinkhammer, 25, has tallied six points (2G, 4A) in 18 games this season with the American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs. The Lethbridge, Alberta, native made his NHL debut with Chicago on Dec. 8, 2010, registering one shot and a +1 plus/minus rating against the Dallas Stars at the United Center.

The 2011-12 campaign was Klinkhammer’s fourth season with the IceHogs and he ranks third on the IceHogs all-time games played list with 242 games under his belt. The winger put up 109 points (44g-65a) while donning an IceHogs uniform. Following the 2008-09 season, Klinkhammer was named Rockford’s Unsung Hero.

Klinkhammer also spent one season with the Norfolk Admirals prior to skating with the IceHogs, tallying 24 points in 66 games. In all, Klinkhammer shows 308 career AHL tilts with 133 points (56g-77a).


Next Home Game: Saturday, Dec. 3 vs. Abbotsford. The puck drops at 7:05 p.m. for Teddy Bear Toss night at the BMO Harris Bank Center as the Abbotsford Heat come to town for the third of four meetings.
