Klinkhammer earns first career NHL recall

Chicago, Ill.- The Chicago Blackhawks announced on Wednesday that the National Hockey League club has recalled forwards Rob Klinkhammer and Jeremy Morin from the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League.

Klinkhammer earns his first career NHL recall. The Lethbridge, Alberta native has appeared in 20 games for Rockford this season and has notched three goals and six assists.

The 24-year-old forward is in his fourth season and third in Rockford. Klinkhammer ranks fifth all-time on Rockford’s games played list during the club’s AHL era, appearing in 165 games with the IceHogs. The winger began his career with the Norfolk Admirals during the 2007-08 season.

Morin receives his third recall of the season. In five games with Chicago the 19-year-old center has an assist. In 17 games with Rockford, Morin is tied for the team lead with six goals to go along with three assists.

The Auburn, New York native was named to the U.S. National Team’s World Junior Championship pre-tournament team on Tuesday.

With the recall of Klinkhammer, Chicago has recalled seven different players from the IceHogs including Morin, Evan Brophey, Jassen Cullimore, Brandon Pirri, Ryan Potulny and Ben Smith. Chicago plays host to the Dallas Stars tonight at the United Center.
