Keith Selected To All-Star Team
Chicago Blackhawks defenseman Duncan Keith has been selected to the NHL’s Western Conference All-Star team for the 2008 NHL All-Star Game taking place on Sunday, January 27 at Phillips Arena in Atlanta.
Keith, 24, will be playing in his first NHL All-Star Game and is among seven players on the Western Conference team that will be making their first All-Star appearance. Keith is on pace for his best season since making his NHL debut in 2005-06. So far in 2007-08, Keith has five goals and leads all Blackhawks defensemen with 12 assists for a total of 17 points.
Keith has led the Blackhawks in time on ice per game in both of his first two seasons and leads the team again this season with 24:31 and that average places him 14th overall in the NHL. He also leads the Blackhawks with a +14 rating, a mark which is currently good for 18th place among all players in the NHL.
Originally selected by the Blackhawks in the second round with the 54th overall pick in the 2002 NHL Entry Draft, Keith has become one of the Blackhawks most durable players. He has played in 206 of a possible 207 games joining the team three seasons ago.
