Johnson, Beaudin, Kalynuk and Delia Join IceHogs

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs, proud American Hockey League affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks of the National Hockey League, received today forward Reese Johnson and defensemen Nicolas Beaudin (NIH-koh-luhs boh-DAYN) and Wyatt Kalynuk (KAL-nihk) from the Blackhawks. Goaltender Collin Delia has been assigned to the IceHogs on a conditioning assignment.

Forwards Brad Morrison and Mikael Hakkarainen along with goaltender Matt Tomkins have been re-assigned from the IceHogs to the Blackhawks’ taxi squad.

Johnson, 22, skated in three games with the Blackhawks this season (no points) including his NHL debut on Feb. 15 vs. Detroit. The Regina, Saskatchewan, native starts his second season in the Forest City after posting eight points (4 goals, 4 assists) in 52 games during his rookie campaign last year. His 63 penalty minutes were third-most on the team and fifth among AHL rookies.

Beaudin, 21, dressed in 11 games with the Blackhawks this season, scoring two goals and three assists for five points. During his rookie season last year, the Chateauguay, Quebec product was tied for second among IceHogs defensemen with 15 points (three goals, 12 assists) in 59 games.

Kalynuk, 23, did not appear in a game with the Blackhawks and returns to the IceHogs after skating in the first two games of the 2020-21 season with the club. The Brandon, Manitoba, native scored his first professional goal and added an assist in his professional debut on Feb. 6 vs. Chicago.

Delia, 26, appeared in two games with the Blackhawks this season, going 0-2-0 with a 5.00 goals-against average and a .863 save percentage. The fourth-year netminder from Rancho Cucamonga, California earned a 16-13-1 standing with the IceHogs last season with a 2.66 GAA and .912 save percentage.

The Rockford IceHogs take their four-game series against the Cleveland Monsters on the road Saturday, Feb. 27 at 6:00 p.m. and Sunday, Feb. 28 at Noon at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
