Johansson Recalled; Blunden, St. Pierre Assigned
General Manager Dale Tallon announced today that the Blackhawks have recalled defenseman Magnus Johansson from the Rockford IceHogs of the AHL. Forwards Martin St.Pierre and Michael Blunden have been assigned to Rockford.
Johansson, 34, is being placed on the Blackhawks roster for the second time this season. Earlier this season, Johansson appeared in 17 games for the Blackhawks, picking up four assists and four penalty minutes.
St.Pierre, 24, appeared in the Blackhawks 5-2 victory over Nashville on Dec. 26, earning 7:40 in ice time including 2:04 on the power play. St. Pierre is the IceHogs’ leading scorer, having appeared in 29 games, scoring 13 goals, to go along with 26 assists for 39 points.
Blunden, 21, played 7:51 in the Blackhawks 5-2 win over Nashville on Dec. 26, playing 2:47 on the penalty kill. In 32 games this season for Rockford, Blunden has 9 goals, while adding 15 assists for 24 points.
