CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicago Blackhawks announced today that they have reassigned goaltender Lars Johansson to the Rockford Icehogs.
Johansson, 29, was recalled on Feb. 26 and has served in a backup role with the Blackhawks in a combined 10 games over two stints at the NHL level. He was previously recalled from Dec. 4-20.
The Avesta, Sweden native returns to the IceHogs with a record of 11-11-4-2 with a 2.66 GAA, .907 save percentage and two shutouts in 30 appearances. The goaltender has 4-0-0-3 with a 1.76 GAA over his last seven AHL games since Jan. 14.
Prior to making his North American pro debut, Johansson was named the Swedish Hockey League's 2015-16 Goaltender of the Year after leading the league in GAA (1.74) and save percentage (.927) in 37 games with Frolunda.
Next Home Game: Tuesday, Feb. 28 vs. Manitoba Moose at 7 p.m. The IceHogs host the Moose in the fifth season matchup between the two teams.
