Hogs to hold press conference at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs will unveil their 2010-11 Jersey Auction Theme at a press conference Thursday, Feb. 17 at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall at 1:30 p.m.
The press conference is open to the public. Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall is located at 770 Cherryvale North Boulevard Rockford, IL 61112. IceHogs forward Kyle Hagel will be in attendance as will Head Coach Bill Peters and Executive Director/GM of Rave Gordon Kaye.
This year's auction game will be held on Sunday, Mar. 13 at 3:00 p.m. when the IceHogs take on the West Division rival Chicago Wolves. The first 2,500 fans to the game will receive a Jersey Auction T-Shirt.
The players will be wearing special themed jerseys during the game and after the game fans can participate in a live auction for the jerseys. Jersey Auction Night is presented by the Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, Dental Dimensions, Pepsi and the IceHogs Charitable Foundation.
Last season, the generous IceHogs fans raised $29,865 at the Annual Jersey Auction and now have totaled $579,603 in 11 auctions since the team was founded in 1999.
Past theme's for the jersey auction included Phantom Regiment Hammy, Cheap Trick Hammy, Pirate Hammy, Dark Hammy and Elvis Hammy.
In 2009-10 the IceHogs and IceHogs Charitable Foundation raised $110,953.60 for local and national non-profit causes and organizations.
Additionally, IceHogs players, coaches, staff and mascot, Hammy Hog, made 174 visits to the community, including stops at several Rockford area schools, hospitals and youth hockey practices.
