Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs stormed past the Manitoba Moose 6-2 on Tuesday night inside the BMO Center. Owen Flores earned his first AHL win making 28 saves.

Halfway through the first period, the Moose struck for the game's opening goal. Walker Duehr fed Mason Shaw in the slot, who chipped the puck past Rockford goaltender Owen Flores.

The IceHogs equalized with two minutes to go in the period while on the power play. Sam Rinzel gathered in a rebound in between the circles and fired it past Manitoba's Thomas Milic for his first AHL goal.

Rockford jumped in front with another milestone goal, this time from Harrison Israels. The rookie forward streaked down the left wing and shot the puck five-hole for his first goal as an IceHog.

Jackson Cates earned his second point of the period when he blasted home a rebound off an Andrew Perrott shot and gave the Hogs a two-goal advantage.

At 11:44 of the 2nd, Kevin Lombardi located a loose puck in the blue paint and slid it past Milic for a 4-1 power play goal.

Early in the 3rd, Rem Pitlick knocked home the Hogs' 5th goal from the far post. The Moose got one back to cut the deficit 5-2 while on the power play with a Samuel Fagemo tally.

Rockford restored the four-goal advantage when Martin Misiak finished off a two-on-one rush when Dominic Toninato put the puck right on the rookie's stick.

Up next, the IceHogs travel to take on the Griffins on Friday, January 16 at 6:00 p.m inside Van Andel Arena. Rockford is back home on Sunday, January 18 at 4:00 p.m. to host the Chicago Wolves for a Screw City Night presented by Hennig. It's Hammy's Birthday Bash with a postgame skate to follow.
