Airport campaign to be promoted during preseason game at MetroCentre
Rockford, Ill.-- The Rockford IceHogs, Rockford MetroCentre, RAVE and SMG have joined the “Rock the Air” campaign to bring Embry-Riddle University to the Chicago Rockford International Airport.
The team will be promoting the city’s bid for Embry-Riddle’s third residential campus at Friday’s preseason game. Representatives from the “Rock the Air” campaign will be at the game asking IceHogs fans to sign their petition. Anyone who signs the petition will get a free ticket to a select weekday home game during the regular season.
The IceHogs drop the puck with the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m. at the Rockford MetroCentre. It is the final home game of the preseason as the team prepares to kick off their 12th season in Rockford and fourth as the primary affiliate of the Chicago Blackhawks.
The “Rock the Air” campaign was organized to encourage Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, a national leader in aviation education, to build a residential campus at Chicago Rockford International Airport. The site is one of three being considered for the school’s third campus.
Tickets for the game are $5 and are available at metrocentre.com, by calling (815) 968-5222 or at the MetroCentre Box Office.
