ICEHOGS UNVEIL MILITARY JERSEYS FOR NOV. 24 GAME

Military Jersey Graphic
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs today announced plans to honor the men and women of our armed forces on Military Appreciation Night, which is set for Friday, Nov. 24 against the Iowa Wild at 7 p.m. The event will include specialty jerseys (which will be available for auction), a patriotic baseball hat giveaway (2,500) thanks to Burr Pest Control and a donation drive for the Veterans Drop-In Center.
Tickets: Available online at IceHogs.com, by phone at 815-968-5222 or in-person at the BMO Harris Center Box Office or any Ticketmaster location.
Specialty Jerseys: The 2017-18 military jersey features an IceHogs nose art logo; a plane with the likeness of Hammy Hog is front and center against a backdrop of the sky and clouds, with the words “When Pigs Fly” in script above the roundel. The jersey itself contains red camouflage print under the arms, on the sides of the torso and around the wrists of an otherwise all-black jersey. Four stars also adorn the front and rear hemlines of the jersey.
A select number of the game-worn sweaters will be auctioned off at the game via blind-silent auction, and two of the jerseys will be available for bidding online beginning Monday, Nov. 6, with proceeds benefitting the Veterans Drop-in Center in Rockford. Fans may also enter an in-game raffle throughout the game for a chance to win one of the specialty jerseys.
Last season’s military jersey auction raised nearly $20,000.
Veterans Drop-In Item Donation: The IceHogs will be collecting donations for the Rockford Veterans Drop-In Center during the game Friday. Suggested donations include paper products or microwavable food items, however, gently-used clothing and non-perishable food items will also be accepted. All fans who donate will receive a free ticket voucher for the IceHogs home game on Tuesday, Dec. 12 against the Chicago Wolves.
Air Force Recruit Swear-In Ceremony: The Air Force will honor its class of new recruits with a special swear-in ceremony during the first intermission of the Nov. 24 game. The Air Force recruits will also make an on-ice presentation of the American flag during the National Anthem.
Baseball Hat Giveaway: Be one of the first 2,500 fans in the building to receive a free patriotic IceHogs baseball hat, thanks to Burr Pest Control.
Next Home Game: The IceHogs return to the BMO Harris Bank Center on Nov. 10 to take on the San Antonio Rampage on Pucks & Paws Night. Fans are invited to bring their dogs to the BMO for this special occasion, and the first 1,500 through the doors will receive a plush Otis dog toy, courtesy of Riverside Dental. Tickets can be purchased at IceHogs.com, by calling (815) 968-5222 or in-person at the BMO Harris Bank Center Box Office.
