ICEHOGS TO WELCOME 3 MILLIONTH FAN THIS SUNDAY VS. SAN ANTONIO

Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs are expecting to reach a special milestone this weekend as their 20th anniversary season rolls into the month of December. The IceHogs will kick off the month with back-to-back home games and are expecting to welcome the 3 millionth fan in franchise history during Sunday’s contest against the San Antonio Rampage.

The IceHogs have drawn 30,160 fans to downtown Rockford for an American Hockey League game through their first eight home contests this season. The Hogs have hosted 4,000+ fans in four of those eight home games, including a season-high attendance of 5,280 during the annual School Day Game on Nov. 7.

The IceHogs begin this weekend’s homestand having welcomed 2,993,702 total fans to the BMO Harris Bank Center during the club’s 20-year history. The Hogs are just 6,298 shy of the 3 million mark, which they expect to reach during Sunday’s game against the Rampage at 4 p.m.

To commemorate the historic attendance milestone, the IceHogs will award the 3 millionth fan with an Ultimate IceHogs Package. The prize pack will feature:

-Two IceHogs season tickets for the remainder of the 2018-19 campaign
-Custom IceHogs jersey
-Four tickets to a select Chicago Blackhawks game in 2018-19 and 2019-20
-Opportunity to participate in a ceremonial pregame puck drop
-Four passes to ride the Hamboni
-BMO Harris Bank Mastercard ($20)

Fans in attendance Sunday are invited to follow the IceHogs’ in-game announcements on the video board as the team begins to narrow down the exact seat location of the 3 millionth fan. The Hogs will begin the reveal by announcing the seating section of the 3 millionth ticket, before posting the row and eventually exact seat number of the lucky winner.

The 3 millionth fan will then be greeted by IceHogs personnel, presented with their prize pack and honored on the video board during the third period Sunday.

Since the IceHogs introduced professional hockey to the Rock River Valley in 1999, the team has enjoyed tremendous support from the Rockford community. The IceHogs’ timeline in the Forest City features an inaugural-season attendance of 143,195 fans in 1999-00, welcoming the 1 millionth fan on Nov. 24, 2006 and hosting the 2 millionth fan on Jan. 11, 2013.

The IceHogs will host the Milwaukee Admirals for Teddy Bear Toss Night at the BMO Harris Bank Center. Fans are encouraged to bring in plush toys/animals to throw on the ice after the IceHogs score their first goal of the game. The stuffed animals will then be donated to local hospitals and kids charities.
