Rockford announced details on “Go Green” promotions
Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs, proud members of the American Hockey League, announced on Wednesday the team’s “Go Green” initiative highlighted by four different “Go Green” giveaways in 2009-10 at the Rockford MetroCentre.
The IceHogs will team up with The No Idle Zone initiative for “Going Green Night” on Friday, Nov. 20. During the game, the IceHogs will wear special green jerseys when they take on the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 p.m. The game marks the first time in which the IceHogs will sport green uniforms.
No Idle Zone is an organization whose mission is to work to clean the air we breath and protect our climate through education, incentives and enforcement. For more information regarding No Idle Zone visit http://www.pscleanair.org/.
Throughout the season the IceHogs will be hosting the following four “Go Green” themed nights:
Saturday, October 31, 2009 – Go Green Water Bottle Giveaway
Friday, November 20, 2009 – Green Jersey Night
Saturday, January 2, 2010 – Go Green T-shirt
Monday, February 15, 2010 – Go Green Goalie Replica Mask Giveaway

Game time is 7:05 p.m. The first annual Hogtoberfest gets under way at 5 p.m. as the IceHogs host a block party on Elm Street and pre-game concert featuring rock band Night Ranger. Also, the first 4,000 fans will pick up a white long-sleeve T-shirt thanks to Dental Dimensions, U.S. Cellular, Guerilla Graffix and ESPN 1380.
