Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs are expanding their broadcast network. The IceHogs and Real Rock Radio, 104.9 FM, the X (WXRX) announced today that the audio feed for all Rockford IceHogs games will be available on WXRX.com.
Fans can join IceHogs play-by-play broadcaster Bob Mills 10 minutes prior to the scheduled puck drop for each IceHogs game during the 2015-16 season for a brief pregame show. The online radio broadcast is accessible through the WXRX website (wxrx.com), by using the “104.9 the X” mobile app (available on Google Play and the Apple App Store), or by clicking here. A link to the broadcast will also be available through IceHogs.com.
All regular season games, both home and away, will continue to be televised live on WIFR’s Justice Network on 23.3.
The IceHogs open up their two-game preseason slate on Thursday, Oct. 1 as they face the Chicago Wolves at the BMO Harris Bank Center. There is no charge to attend the preseason game. Fans attending the preseason game and any other IceHogs home game during the 2015-16 season can also listen to the broadcasts on 104.3 FM inside the arena.
All those attending the preseason contest are encouraged to bring a non-perishable food item to the BMO. The food will be donated to the Rockford Rescue Mission, and each fan who donates will receive a buy one, get one free ticket voucher good for any IceHogs home game in October. The IceHogs will also be giving away four tickets to the Chicago Blackhawks preseason finale at the United Center on Saturday, Oct. 3.
