ICEHOGS TO PARTNER WITH LOCAL SCHOOLS FOR ROCKFORD PROMISE SCHOLARSHIP FUND
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs today announced a partnership with Rockford Public Schools and Rockford Promise to host Rockford Promise Night on Sunday, March 17 in support of the Rockford Promise Scholarship Fund.
Rockford Promise is a charity organization dedicated to enhancing economic vitality in the region by providing access to post-secondary education for Rockford Public Schools graduates.
The initiative is highlighted by an IceHogs ticket drive in the participating schools for the Rockford Promise game against the Texas Stars at 4 p.m. Students at Auburn, East, Guilford, Jefferson and Roosevelt high schools will be challenged to sell tickets to the IceHogs game. The IceHogs, in-turn, will donate $5 from each sale to Rockford Promise. Overall, the IceHogs seek to donate $5,000 to the scholarship organization.
The top-selling school will also receive an additional donation from the IceHogs to help offset student fees to a school-sponsored event this academic year. Each participating school will receive recognition on the video board during the March 17 game.
The ticket drive will also provide a hands-on, learning experience. Representatives from the IceHogs front office will help each school prepare a Sports Marketing and Ticket Sales strategy to both assist the students in reaching their sales goal and provide insight into the sports industry.
Fans interested in supporting Rockford Promise Night can purchase tickets for the game on March 17 HERE. With each ticket purchase, $5 will be donated to the Rockford Promise Scholarship Fund.
Next home game: Fri. Jan. 25, 7 p.m. vs. Manitoba Moose
The IceHogs take on the Manitoba Moose this Friday at the BMO Harris Bank Center. The first 2,500 fans in attendance will receive a free T-shirt, courtesy of Toyota.
