Rockford, Ill.- The Rockford IceHogs welcome in the New Year with two home games this weekend, including Friday night where the team will honor hockey legend Scotty Bowman in the first of two games at the BMO Harris Bank Center.

As the IceHogs take on the Iowa Wild on Friday, Jan. 3 the first 2,500 fans through the gates will pick up a Scotty Bowman Bobblehead, compliments of U.S. Cellular.

Bowman is the National Hockey League’s all-time coaching leader with 1,244 regular season wins and 223 in the postseason. Currently serving as the Blackhawks Senior Advisor to Hockey Operations, Bowman has been a part of 13 Stanley Cup Championship teams, including two with the Blackhawks in 2010 and 2013.

The IceHogs are right back at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday night as they host the defending Calder Cup Champion Grand Rapids Griffins at 7 p.m.
