ICEHOGS TO HELP UNVEIL EMERGENCY RESPONDERS MEMORIAL
Memorial to include steel from the World Trade Center Towers
Rockford, Ill.-The Rockford IceHogs, in conjunction with the Winnebago County Emergency Responders, announced on Thursday that two pieces of steel from the World Trade Center Towers will be on display at the Rockford MetroCentre beginning on Saturday, March 26 during the IceHogs game against the Milwaukee Admirals at 7:05 p.m.
The steel is a key component to the Winnebago County 9/11 Emergency Responders Memorial that will be built in downtown Rockford honoring fallen first responders in Winnebago County and victims from the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.
All Emergency Responders who show proper identification when purchasing tickets for Rockford’s game against Milwaukee on March 26 will have $9.11 from the ticket donated to the memorial fund.
During Rockford’s final three home games, beginning March 26, fans can make a donation to help fund the memorial. All fans who donate will have their names listed on a donor wall displayed at the MetroCentre.
Throughout the game on March 26, an honor guard will accompany the steel, which are remnants from the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center Towers in New York City.

The first 2,500 fans to the game on March 26 against the Admirals will receive an IceHogs Dry Erase Board courtesy of Rock Valley College, FOX-39 and BOB FM.
Tickets to the game can be purchased by calling (815) 968-5222, on-line through www.icehogs.com or in person at the MetroCentre Box Office, open noon-5 p.m., Monday-Friday. All first responders who wish to have the $9.11 donated from their tickets purchased to the game for the memorial fund must purchase their tickets at the Box Office.
Next Home Game: Friday, March 18, vs. Oklahoma City Barons. Puck drop is at 7:05 p.m. The poster series continues. The first 1,000 fans through the doors will receive an IceHogs poster thanks to Comcast and Medicine Man, the fifth and final in the 2010-11 poster series.
