Tickets to be made available through Ticketmaster beginning July 1
Rockford, Ill.-Beginning July 1, 2012, all tickets for BMO Harris Bank Center events, including Rockford IceHogs games, will be available exclusively through Ticketmaster, including all Ticketmaster outlets in Northern Illinois and ticketmaster.com.
Ticket prices for the 2012-13 IceHogs season will remain the same, including fees, starting with the $8 Terrace Level price and ranging up to $27 VIP Glass Seats. Tickets purchased the day of game are subject to an additional $1 surcharge and all individual game tickets are subject to an arena service charge.
Ticketmaster features a state of the art ticketing platform that will allow fans more flexibility when purchasing tickets through the latest integrated social media tools and additional Ticketmaster retail outlets throughout the region including Walmart locations.
“This takes our venues to the next level with the world-class technology and features offered by Ticketmaster. It’s a household name and the most trusted outlet there is,” said Gordon Kaye, executive director and general manager for BMO Harris Bank Center. “The opportunity to expose our events, including the IceHogs, to an audience beyond Rockford, is absolutely essential to our growth.”
“Equally important,” continued Kaye, “is that we were able to structure our new partnership to take advantage of all of the new opportunities, from a marketing and ticketing perspective, without our guests seeing any increase in convenience, processing or facility fees.”
“I am firm believer that we need to expand the geographic reach of our facilities into the Chicagoland area,” commented Mike Dunn, Chairman of RAVE (which oversees the BMO Harris Bank Center and Davis Park). “The partnership that SMG has structured with Ticketmaster provides a great vehicle for us to finally reach those markets in an effective and impactful manner.”
Ticketmaster brings state-of-the-art social media integration tools and mobile capabilities to SMG’s Rockford venues and events including:
Social media-enabled Interactive Seat Map that gives the option for ticket purchasers to ‘tag’ their seat in the venue so friends can select nearby available seats.
Personalized accounts that simplify and expedite ticket checkout by securely pulling saved account information.
Geolocated event recommendations. Events are also suggested based on previously attended shows of other artists they follow on social media.
Ticketmaster Store on Facebook that allows visitors to directly purchase tickets without having to go to another website.
Mobile communications and capabilities are becoming more important than ever for successful ticket sales. Ticketmaster reported that for the first time, mobile ticket purchases outsold computer transactions in 2011. Ticketmaster leads the industry in this technology and offers an entire suite of applications including mobile delivery of tickets.
The company offers mobile browsing and an interactive iPhone, iPad and iPod touch applications that provide alerts and recommendations tailored to the music libraries on the devices. Along with the iPhone app, Ticketmaster also offers an app for Android smartphones. Users are proactively alerted about presales, new show announcements, promotional deals and other important live event updates that reflect their interests and location.
With 80 million tickets sold world-wide in 2011 and its highest-ever fan satisfaction rating, Ticketmaster is positioned to help sell more tickets than anyone else in the industry. Its brand recognition, online presence and deep integration with social media expose SMG’s Rockford events to the largest audience possible.
SMG will reach a wide geographic audience through Ticketmaster’s long-standing relationships with retail outlets such as Publix, Kroger and Walmart.
