Rockford, Ill.- A busy summer in the community continues this week for the Rockford IceHogs. The IceHogs, along with the team’s mascot Hammy Hog, will be around the Forest City all weekend.

On Friday, the IceHogs front office staff will be teaming up with the United Way for The United Way Day of Caring. Staff members will be painting the Barbara Olson Center of Hope from noon-4 p.m.

The Barbara Olson Center provides services to children and adults with developmental disabilities. The center provides a variety of vocational, employment, educational, social and habilitative services for teens and adults with developmental disabilities living in Winnebago and Boone counties.

The Barbara Olson Center also helps increase independence for people with special needs in a safe positive environment.

Also this weekend, fans can hang out with the IceHogs at one of Rockford's hottest summer events, the 2008 Rockford Airfest at the Chicago-Rockford International Airport. The IceHogs will be out all three days of the air show beginning on Friday, June 6 through Sunday, June 8.

Hammy Hog and the IceHogs Fan Information Booth will be there and fans can stop by and pick up info on the IceHogs, sign up for some great prizes courtesy of the IceHogs and meet and get an autograph from Hammy!
