ICEHOGS TEAM UP WITH MARCH OF DIMES FOR 15TH ANNUAL JERSEY AUCTION
Rockford hosts Chicago on Sunday, March 30 on Annual Jersey Auction Night
Rockford, Ill. - The Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League announced Thursday that the team has partnered with the March of Dimes for the 15th Annual Jersey Auction game on Sunday, March 30 at 4 p.m. against the Chicago Wolves.
The 2014 jersey auction logo was unveiled at Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall, the presenting sponsor once again this season.
Immediately following the game on March 30, the team will hold a live auction out on the BMO Harris Bank Center ice where fans can bid on the specialty jerseys. All proceeds from the jersey auction go to the IceHogs Charitable Foundation. A portion of the jersey auction proceeds will be donated to March of Dimes. Some of the other beneficiaries include Boy Scouts and Girls Scouts of America, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Rockford and Jr. IceHogs.
The March of Dimes is a not-for-profit organization and its mission is to improve the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and infant mortality. The March of Dimes provides mothers, pregnant women and women of childbearing age with educational resources on baby health, pregnancy, preconception and new motherhood, as well as supplying information and support to families affected by prematurity, birth defects, or other infant health problems.
Last year’s Abrahammy Lincoln jersey auction raised $41,255 and during the team’s 14 auctions since being founded in 1999, the annual jersey auction night has totaled $685,525 with all proceeds staying in the Rockford community.
One lucky fan will be chosen at random at the March 30th game and will have a chance to win a new car courtesy of Lou Bachrodt Auto Mall.
