ICEHOGS SIGN WALTERS TO PTO
Rockford, Ill. – The Rockford IceHogs announced on Tuesday that they have signed forward Dane Walters to a professional tryout.
Walters, 25, has notched nine goals and eight assists in 27 games with the ECHL’s Toledo Walleye this season.
The St. Paul, Minn. native has appeared 77 career ECHL contests split between the Elmira Jackals and the Walleye. With the Jackals in 2013-14, Walters registered 10 goals and 13 assists. The 25-year-old has also skated in three career AHL tilts, coming during the 2012-13 campaign with the Worcester Sharks.
Prior to turning pro, Walters spent four seasons at Western Michigan University, compiling 83 points (39g-44a) in 144 career games. The right winger served as an alternate captain for the Broncos and helped lead the team to a CCHA Championship in 2011-12 along with an NCAA tournament bid.
