IceHogs Sign Forward Kyler Kupka for 2026-27 Season
Rockford, IL. - The Rockford IceHogs and General Manager Mark Bernard announced today that the team has signed forward Kyler Kupka to a one-year AHL contract.
Kupka played 12 games with the Hershey Bears last season and has skated in 24 AHL contests between the Bears and Wranglers over the last two season. The 27-year-old spent the majority of the 2025-26 campaign with the South Carolina Stingrays of the ECHL, amassing 42 points (19G, 23A).
"We are thrilled to add Kyler to our group", said Bernard. "In his first two seasons of pro hockey, he proved to be a very reliable offensive player. His hockey sense and compete are both at high levels and we look forward to him joining our organization.”
A native of Camrose, AB, Kupka played his first full pro season with the Stingrays under the direction of current IceHogs' bench boss Jared Nightingale. The lefty winger was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team in 2024-25, recording 53 points in 54 games.
Kupka played the entirety of his collegiate career at St. Cloud State University, spending five years with the program. In 145 games with the Huskies, he collected 32 goals and 53 assists.
