IceHogs Sign Forward Chase Dafoe
Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs and General Manager Mark Bernard announced that the team has signed forward Chase Dafoe to a two-year AHL contract through the 2026-27 season.
The team has also reassigned goaltender Owen Flores to the Indy Fuel in the ECHL and released defenseman Jake Murray from his PTO contract.
Dafoe, 24, finished his third season with the University of Alaska-Fairbanks and served as captain of the Nanooks. This year, the Beverly, MA native recorded 21 points (13G,8A) in 33 games. The forward spent his first collegiate season at Providence College, before transferring to Alaska.
Prior to his NCAA time, Dafoe skated parts of four seasons in the BCHL between Trail Smoke and West Kelowna. His father, Byron Dafoe, spent 12 seasons in the NHL as a goaltender and won the 1994 Calder Cup with Portland.
