Defenseman reassigned from Rockford to the Indy Fuel

Rockford, Ill. - The American Hockey League’s Rockford IceHogs announced on Wednesday that they have reassigned defenseman Kirill Gotovets (KAH-rihl GOH-tuh-vehts) to the Indy Fuel of the ECHL.

Gotovets, 23, has registered a goal and assist in nine games for the IceHogs this season. The rookie d-man tallied his first career AHL goal in his IceHogs debut on Feb. 20, 2015 against Lake Erie.

In 38 games with the Fuel this season, Gotovets shows six goals and five assists. The four-year product of Cornell University was drafted in the seventh round (No. 183 overall) by the Tampa Bay Lightning in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

A native of Minsk, Belarus, Gotovets has appeared in one AHL game prior to this season, playing with the Milwaukee Admirals following the conclusion of his career at Cornell last spring. The 5-foot-11, 194-pound rearguard accrued three goals and 16 assists in 112 games with the Big Red.
