IceHogs Run out of Steam, Fall 4-2 to Griffins

Rockford, IL - The Rockford IceHogs fell 4-2 on home ice to the Grand Rapids Griffins on Saturday night, 4-2 inside the BMO Center.
In the first period, Grand Rapids struck with two special teams' tallies. On the man-advantage, John Leonard snapped home his 6th of the season from the far circle.
Minutes later while killing off a Rockford power play, Dominik Shine lead a rush and batted in his own rebound to double the Grand Rapids' lead.
After crawling their way back in the 2nd period, the Hogs finally broke through with a Jackson Cates goal. Martin Misiak fed the center from below the goal line to make it 2-1 Griffins.
In the 3rd, GR extended the advantage again with a marker from defenseman Antti Tuomisto from the far wing. The Hogs battled back with a Nick Lardis rocket with the goaltender pulled to push the Griffins lead to 3-2. Dominik Shine added the empty-net goal to ice the game.
The IceHogs are back in action on Sunday, November 2 with a 3:00 p.m. puck drop against the Griffins in Grand Rapids. Rockford is back at home inside the BMO Center on Saturday, November 8 at 7:00 p.m. to host the Admirals on "Back to the Future Night." Tickets are still available at icehogs.com
