Rockford, Ill.- Chicago Blackhawks General Manager of Minor League Affiliations Mark Bernard announced on Thursday that the Rockford IceHogs of the American Hockey League have released nine players from their training camp try-out. Three of those players have been sent to the Toledo Walleye, Rockford’s ECHL affiliate.
The players released include forwards Scott Freeman, Aaron Lewicki, Adam Miller, Evan Rankin, Harrison Reed and Justin Taylor, along with defensemen Darcy Campbell, Drew Paris and Elgin Reid. Lewicki, Miller and Reed will report to Toledo’s training camp Thursday.
Rockford’s preseason roster now stands at 26 skaters, including 15 forwards, eight defensemen and three goalies.
The IceHogs will play their second preseason game against the Milwaukee Admirals at the Kern Center in Milwaukee on Friday night at 7 p.m. The final preseason game will be held at the BMO Harris Bank Center on Saturday at 7:05 p.m. as the IceHogs face the Peoria Rivermen.
